The highest potential to save energy and money in manufacturing is with gaining efficiencies in energy intensive end-use processes, such as compressed air, vacuum, pump and fan equipment, and process heating applications. Of the energy used for non-process needs, lighting and HVAC provide the most substantial savings opportunities.

Motor-driven systems often are oversized and inefficiently controlled. VSDs can provide a more cost-effective method for reducing flow or pressure at the source by varying the speed of the fan, pump or compressor to match the process requirements. Energy savings in VSD applications usually range from 20 to 50 percent.

Optimizing process cooling can reduce cooling costs by 10 to 25 percent annually. This includes the staging of chillers, reducing condenser water temperature, and improving pumping efficiency through the use of VSDs and other controls.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

Electrical preventative maintenance offers a proven proactive, comprehensive electrical diagnostic and maintenance program designed to help prepare for upgrades or identify critical spares required before a failure occurs.  Through experience and expertise, we can identify most preventable potential issues with regular monitoring of the electrical systems on machines.  We use thermal imaging to check electrical components, and rotating equipment which can indicate and detect bearing failures, belt misalignments, and slippage.

SAFETY

Tesla Edison will undertake routine machinery safety performance checks to ensure ongoing integrity of safety systems preventing possibility of injury to operators and other personal.  We design, install and upgrade safety systems on existing machinery.

Tesla Edison can add lockable isolators to individual components on machinery to ensure safe lock out and tag out points for production wash down and cleaning or maintenance services.

Ordinary electrical equipment can produce arcs, sparks, and heat, all of which are potential source of ignition, therefore hazardous areas requires competent and specialised training to ensure equipment is installed and maintained to ASNZS 60079 standards.
